Tomorrow starts a New Year. There’s something special about transitions into another year— the reflection of your previous year and the thought of new opportunities to redefine our direction for the new year.
I speak a lot about staying the course and sticking to the plan, but sometimes moving forward isn’t about staying the course—it’s about pivoting. It’s about recognizing that how you've been doing things may need to change and having the courage to shift when the moment calls for it.
So, as we step into 2025, let’s talk about this power of pivoting and what that could look like for us:
Let me be clear, pivoting isn’t about giving up; it’s about leveling up. Your goals don't change. You're still heading to your destination, the route just shifts a bit which could lead to unexpected outcomes that turn out to be better than you could've imagined. If you stay open to change you could find yourself aligning more closely with your potential.
Your Greatest Potential Lies Beyond Comfort Zones
If 2024 taught me anything, it's been to push past the known and unknown. Pivoting requires you to get uncomfortable. It asks you to move into spaces where you don’t have all the answers but trust the process anyway. The discomfort is where growth happens.
Vision and Trust
You can’t successfully pivot if you’re staring in the rearview mirror. You'll need to be a forward-thinker and trust that the shift is taking you to a better place.
I talk about faith a lot and that's because faith allows you to make those decisions that might not make sense in the moment. That's because you're letting go of control and certainty and leaning into possibility. When you pivot with vision and faith, you stop questioning every step and start moving with confidence.
Moving Forward with 2025 in Mind
As we enter 2025, let's embrace the opportunity to pivot where necessary. I'm not saying just start making changes in the name of pivoting.
Again, I'm saying embrace the opportunity when necessary. Not every challenge or roadblock means it’s time to pivot. Sometimes, persistence is the key to breakthrough. Other times, the circumstances call for re-direction.
Every journey comes with challenges. However, there’s a difference between difficulties you can overcome with time as opposed to effort and barriers that block your progress no matter what you do. For example, if no matter how much energy you pour into something, someone, or a plan and it continues to feel like it’s not bearing fruit, that could be a sign to pivot.
But If the hurdles are teaching you lessons and leading you forward, then it might just be a rough patch requiring perseverance.
Don’t fear change—welcome it. The detours in your journey are often where the biggest transformations happen.
Here's to a new year of embracing growth 🥂
May 2025 bring you clarity, courage, and BIG opportunities.
Peace.
