Today, I was going through my grandma's keepsakes and found her mothers obituary (my great-grandmother). There's a poem on the back that I feel hit the spot at the moment. It's a reminder to keep your eye on the goal, that you're special, and to keep going.
It reads:
A good many people will work very well when the task at their hand is new;
When it is old, and their zeal grows cold, there will only be left the few.
Many a runner will start in the race, and keep the pace for a while;
But only one when the course is done, will break the line at the mile.
Hands of the crowd may reach for stars because they are far and bright;
But it takes a man to grope for truth that is lost in a starless night.
The man who sticks when work is dull is the one who will reach the top;
There is a goal for the steady soul, but none for the quitters who stop.
🙏🏽
Peace.
